Community investment

What are the issues?

Our people are passionate about giving something back to the community. We simply believe it is the right thing to do.

What are we doing about it?

We have long recognised that there are many people in our society less fortunate that ourselves. And at Whitbread we want to give something back.

What are the issues?

Both in the UK and in the countries where we operate internationally there are may people less fortunate than ourselves, who lack the things that most of us are lucky enough to take for granted such as access to a good education or to safe drinking water and sanitary facilities.

What are we doing about it?

Our people are passionate about giving something back to the community. We simply believe it is the right thing to do and Whitbread has been actively involved in the community for over 30 years. We have long recognised that there are many people in our society less fortunate than ourselves. And at Whitbread we want to give something back. We are proud to say that many charities have benefited from all our programmes and schemes over the years.

The table below shows the total community investment from Whitbread and our team members over the last three years:

We run our community fundraising programmes at both the corporate and the local level. Our corporate investment focuses on international charities and issues in countries and communities that are an integral part of our business.

Our local investment recognises the importance of supporting our team members and the charities that are close to their hearts. By providing financial support via our Raise & Match Scheme and Give & Match (payroll giving) Scheme, we help them in their efforts to raise money for charities and good causes.
